Seeing Double (3) – Scheurich and British Studio Pottery Vase

One of the classic Scheurich glaze decors which was applied to thousands of its vases during the 1960s and 1970s also appears to have made its way onto what I think is most likely to be a British studio pottery piece. The similarity is such that I would assume they must be a copy of one another. Presumably it was the studio potter who did the copying and not the other way around.

This post forms part of a series of blogs, Seeing Double, which looks at examples of different West German pottery companies producing very similar forms or decors (you can see the others by clicking here and here)
