The TV show ‘Antiques Road Trip’ must have proved popular, this latest series has seen the programme lengthen to an hour and move to a prime time slot on BBC2. The episode broadcast on the 18/09/2012 featured Thomas Plant and Mark Hales buying antiques on route to auctions in Froncysyllte and Llandeilo where the items they bought were subsequently sold (you can see the episode for a limited time here). They didn’t buy any West German pottery but the eagle eyed littleowlski spotted a probable West German handled vase on top of a cabinet (perhaps made by Bay or Dumler & Breiden).

Later in the show a relatively mundane Scheurich floor vase is briefly visible.

The Schurich vase has the same décor and may even be the same form (407-35) as one which featured in ‘The Knack DIY’ magazine which appeared in an earlier ‘West German Pottery Spotted’ blog (click here to see more information).

I reckon more and more WGP will start appearing on programmes like these as it gets more collectable and widespread.
