West German Pottery – Price Trends – August to December 2013

Sale prices on eBay have been analysed to evaluate West German Pottery price trends. The aim is to monitor the changing value of Fat Lava pottery through analysis of UK eBay sales. The intention is that this will provide a barometer for the popularity/desirability of Fat Lava items.

It has been 5 months since we last published an update on price trends. This update therefore provides values for August 2013 through to December 2013 (a sample of sale prices and postage from 500 items). During this period the average sale price (plus postage) and the top 20% most expensive items have both generally incresed.

December 2013 saw the highest recorded average sale price (£31.88) and the second highest value for the 20% of most expensive items (£131.19) since recording started over two years ago (September 2011).

West German Pottery Sale Announced!

West German Pottery Sale
Pots and Pots are very excited to announce that we shall be holding a grand West German pottery sale on Saturday the 30th of November and Sunday the 1st of December. We shall be throwing open the doors to our treasure trove (i.e. our double garage) which is stocked to the rafters with over 1,500 fat lava items.

There should be something for everyone:

  • All manner of items: vases, wall plaques, plates, plant pots, candle holders etc
  • Huge range of manufacturers: from Bay and Carstens to Steuler and Ü Keramik
  • Subtle 1950s mid century design items through to the outlandishly garish decors of the 1970s
  • Small (4cm) or large (60cm) vases
  • Prices from £3 to £60

We will be opening the doors at 10:00am – but there is no need to rush as we will be on hand to fill any gaps that do appear with brand new stock that we just don’t have space to display!

The sale will be held at 27 Green Lane, Hadfield, Derbyshire, SK13 2DT.

Please keep your eyes on this blog where we will be adding photographs of some of the stock as the sale date nears. If you want any further details please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our email: info@potsandpots.com

You can see some photos of a sale which we organised a few years ago here.

Come and join us that weekend for some WGP chat, a few refreshments and to meet other Fat Lava enthusiasts from around the country.
