Clemens & Huhn

1948 – 1975
Established in 1948 by Walther Clemens. The company produced very high quality, well styled pieces.

Identification of Clemens and Huhn is problematic due to an apparent crossover in pieces with Ilkra company. Ilkra either copied Clemens & Huhn designs or more likely just commissioned Clemens & Huhn to produce some of their items for them and then Ilkra simply re-labelled them as their products. To complicate things further Ilkra took over Clemens & Huhn forms when they ceased as a company in 1975.

White clay was always used and marks are usually form number followed by height.

Numbers are usually separated by “/” or occasionally on two lines where space is limited. The first set of numbers are usually 4 digits long and followed by the height in cm.
